CCVIEO CULTURE COLLECTION
CCVIEO focuses on marine microalgae that produce harmful algal blooms. Since 2024, it has been part of the CSIC’s catalog of scientific and technical services. Updated costs for supplying CCVIEO strains can be found on the website.
It is an important tool for our research group, providing material for research projects on toxicity, taxonomy, life cycles, genetics, and pigments.
It contains approximately 300 strains from more than 80 microalgal species. Most strains are from Spanish coasts, but it also includes cultures from other parts of the world.
