Several species of the genus Dinophysis are responsible for DSP-type toxic episodes at a global level. Our objective is to characterize the diversity of Dinophysis in the NW of the Iberian Peninsula and establish permanent cultures of different species of Dinophysis to study their genetics, physiology and toxin production in the laboratory.
